The crème de la crème of modern and classic supercars are preparing to throw down the gauntlet at the “Goodwood of the North”. The event is the Cholmondeley Pageant of Power, and we’ve managed to wrangle some fantastic ticket price discounts for Auto Express readers.

Now in its fourth year, the Pageant will play host to the likes of the Lamborghini Gallardo Spyder Performante, Ariel Atom V8 and Ferrari 458 GT3, as well as entrants from McLaren, Bentley, Porsche and Jaguar. They’ll all be competing to set the fastest time in a 1.2-mile sprint around the venue’s circuit.

And they’ll face stiff competition from some of motor sport’s elder statesmen, too. A range of Grand Prix legends will take to the track – most notably a 1938 Auto Union Type C, and the Lotus 18 in which Sir Stirling Moss won the 1960 Monaco Grand Prix.

There will be Le Mans giants like the Mercedes Benz 300SL ‘Gullwing’, Ferrari 250 GT SWB and the 2003 winning Bentley Speed 8.

And if that’s not enough to whet your appetite, you can also catch a number of Group B era rally stars, including the fearsome 1983 Audi Quattro A2.

Bugatti Veyron Grand Sport L'Or Blanc unveiled

The Bugatti Veyron 16.4 is heading into the history books, but Grand Sport production continues as the company has unveiled this one-off L'Or Blanc ("White Gold") in Berlin.

Created with the assistance of Königliche Porzellan-Manufaktur (KPM), the bespoke roadster is the first vehicle to have porcelain elements inside and out. Despite sounding rather odd, Sales and Marketing director Dr. Stefan Brungs explained "...this is what Bugatti stands for: the realization of exceptional ideas whilst striving for the utmost in quality and aesthetics. This allows us to continue Ettore Bugatti's heritage, who himself loved to experiment with new materials."

The L'Or Blanc is priced at €1.65 ($2.40 / £1.49) million, so you'd better start saving.

Transformers 3 Dark Of The Moon Theatrical Trailer

An appraiser gives his take on the damage done in the film.

With Chicago in the spotlight thanks to the release of Transformers: Dark of the Moon, the Chicago Tribune decided to see just how much damage a robot war could cause. The vehicle/bipedal humanoids rampaged through about a third of the Second City's downtown area, according to a commercial appraiser.

Appraisal Research Counselors vice president Jim Kutill told the newspaper that the filmed destruction would have wiped out about 20 million square feet of office space, nearly 17% of all offices in the center. The Hotel 71, Hotel Monaco, Hotel Sax, Sheraton and Swissotel were all ravaged, each with rooms that could sell on the real estate market for upwards of $350,000 per room.

The city's landmark Marina City, Aon Center and Equitable Building, as well as much of Wacker Drive -made world famous by the Blues Brothers- were all smashed up.

And when real estate manager Rudy Banducci found out one of his buildings was used as the Decepticon's hangout, he replied, "Well, I guess then I should go on the record as stating that we do not condone any evil robots."

The third installment of the live-action Transformers franchise will be released in markets worldwide this week.

2012 BMW 6-Series Gran Coupe spied with the M-Package

With the Frankfurt Motor Show just around the corner, BMW is wrapping up development on the 6-Series Gran Coupe.

Unlike yesterday's prototype, this particular model is outfitted with the M-Package. The car appears to have an aggressive front fascia, revised side skirts, a modified rear bumper and unique alloy wheels.

Since the M-Package is more about styling than performance, we can expect it to be offered on the full range of 6-Series Gran Coupes. Notable petrol options are slated to include a 300 hp (224 kW / 304 PS) 3.0-liter inline-six and a 400 hp (298 kW / 406 PS) 4.4-liter V8. On the diesel side, we can expect two 3.0-liter units rated at 204 hp (152 kW / 207 PS) and 245 hp (183 kW / 248 PS).
